Photography That Lasts Forever

This website is the home of Amanada and Mark Mackie.

Mark says....

"We are members of the SWPP (society of wedding and portrait photographers) & the BPPA (British professional photographers association), and have won many awards with them.

Our state of the art Design Studios and home are nestled in the Northamptonshire countryside, very close to Princess Di country. In fact one of our favourite restaurants is The Althorp Inn, a 16th century coaching inn with oak beams, log fires and the most delicious menu, It's situated right next door to the post office which Diana used to go as a child.

Within a stone’s throw of our home, in almost every direction, are some of England’s most beautiful stately homes. Many of them are now wedding venues and as wedding photographers, we spend many Saturdays in these amazing venues photographing weddings and capturing memories.

We are very passionate about photography. We have been taking pictures since the good old film days. In fact Amanda was one of my models in my early days, and after one or two photo shoots at my studio in Leeds, we fell in love and have been together ever since.

When Amanda attended her first wedding with me, she came as my assistant and fell in love with the wedding business in a heartbeat. I guess from that moment on, Mackie and Mackie wedding photography was born.

She loved the excitement, the atmosphere, the ambience of the wedding day… and especially loved the idea of getting all dressed up to go to a wedding… What girl wouldn’t?

I soon discovered she was a natural. She looked at things from a woman’s point of view… from the bride’s point of view and brought the woman’s touch into the business. From the moment she picked up the camera, she knew exactly what she wanted to photograph, and we discovered that she was a naturally gifted photographer.

Amanda knows how brides think and what they want. Amanda now designs all our clients albums and each one is unique. Each page is designed, carefully crafted page by page."

Amanda says....

"As you can tell, I love what I do, what girl wouldn’t. When I get all dressed up, I’ve definitely got somewhere to go.

We have photographed many weddings in such beautiful places as Fawsley Hall, Highgate House, Rushton Hall, Whittlebury Park, Hinwick House, Kelmarsh Hall, Barnsdale Hall, The Swiss Gardens, Harrowden Hall and Golf Club, Kettering Park Hotel, Bedford Swan hotel to name but a few of my favourites.

Girls love to go to weddings and I get to photograph lots every year. My Saturday’s comprise of beautiful churches, beautiful hotels, stunning stately homes, bell towers, lakes, romantic bridges straddling streams and rivers which provide breathtaking backdrops to these special days and the resulting wedding albums.

I get to photograph brides arriving in Rolls Royce’s, Beauford’s, Limos, Hummers and for the Groom and his best man… a flame throwing Hot Rod now and again, but my all time favourite is when one of my brides arrives in a Horse and Carriage… such elegance.

I live in a fairytale world of dreams, love and romance, and I get to share in the bride and grooms dreams.

As their wedding day unfolds we capture all those special moments for them… from the bride getting ready in her room, photos with her proud parents and bridesmaids, walking down the aisle, meeting her husband-to-be at the other end & saying ‘I do’.

I capture the tears of joy, the family photographs, pictures at the reception, through to the cutting of the cake… and many times we are invited to stay for dinner which is one of my favourite parts of the day. We continue shooting right through the speeches to the bride and grooms first dance and often a stunning firework display afterwards.

As the bride and groom then dance the night away, we rush home and I begin to download & back-up her cherished memories from our days shoot. What a day, what a business. It's easy to see why I love it so much.

Time and time again people say how lucky we are, and I just smile and say ‘You’re right, we are’."
